Crafts by Bean is a Nigerian-based business that offers a unique range of creative products, including beaded bags, beaded tops, and beaded accessories. I'm honoured to showcase my innovative/artistic designs and dedicated to providing high-quality, handcrafted accessories that are both stylish and durable, making a statement in the world of fashion.
My Story
I started working with beads in 2016. I had just finished secondary school and was waiting to get admission into university. I used to pass by a bead shop on my way to the market and the neck pieces caught my attention every time. So when this waiting period came, I took a bold step and bought some bead packets. While shopping, I would look at the crafts lady from the corner of my eye. I pride myself in being a fast learner so of course I was able to make sense of her process within a few minutes. Went back home and practiced and eventually started selling beaded necklaces and earrings. I later got admitted to uni and abandoned the craft because I didn't want to juggle schoolwork and craft (which I regret now)
Fast forward to 2022, I was done with uni and I wasn't interested in furthering my education so I thought of what I could start and I remembered beaded necklaces. But it seemed like people rarely wore beaded neck pieces so I tried to be innovative and thought of beaded bags. Surprise, surprise, it was already a thing (not me thinking I would be the founder of beaded bags lol) but I carried on and thus came Crafts by Bean :-)
